what makes this plan unique?

Let’s start off with a question:  Are your Bible ­reading habits a source of guilt in your life? 

 

Take a test!  Does this describe you? 

 

  • You fail to read your  Bible and then feel a subtle guilt about it. 

  • You’ve tried Bible reading plans and have failed, again feeling guilty about it. 

  • You’re sticking to a plan, but feel frustrated and guilty because you just don’t feel that you are meeting with God. 

 

Isn’t it odd that ­ the very thing you trust to remove​ your guilt, becomes a source​ of guilt?

 

The goal of the Guilt-Free Bible Reading Plan is to resolve guilt and bring joy back into your Bible reading, allowing for spirit-­refreshing moments of meeting with God in His living word. 

 

We start by eliminating slavery to the 365 ­day cycle around which most Bible reading plans are structured and give freedom for the Spirit of God to direct the time it takes to get through the Bible. 

 

Rather than one year, it may take a year and a half. So what? The priority after all, is not ​to be tied to a system or a calendar, but to enjoy the presence of God​­ at His pace.

If the Bible is alive, (Hebrews 4:12, John 6:63) then we can expect God to meet with us often,­ something we might be missing if we are speed­-reading or skipping assigned portions of our Bible because we need to keep up with a plan based on a certain time ­frame.


Bible plans that are based on the (sacred?) one-year cycle tend to engage the reader in a mechanical and performance-based approach, whereas God wants us to approach Him in a relational way.
